Kate |

Kate started her vet nursing career working for an animal shelter. From there she did further studies in veterinary technology and management before progressing to full time vet nursing. Kate has recently returned from leave, to her job as practice administrator. She is passionate about animal welfare and conservation of all species. At home Kate cares for a menagerie of dogs, cats and even a couple of rats. In her spare time Kate enjoys playing tennis and football with her sons and going to the gym. |
Tara |

Tara took up vet nursing following her Bachelor of Science from University of Southern Queensland. She has been involved in all facets of veterinary practice but is probably most noted for her role in the puppy preschool classes at the Albert Animal Hospital. Tara now works part time as our head nurse and stock controller. Tara’s family at home includes her wonderful husband, 2 gorgeous and energetic sons, a beautiful rotty, 2 cats, 2 central bearded dragons and a flowerhorn. In her spare time Tara enjoys fishing, camping, kayaking and going to the beach with her family. |

Renee |

Renee started on her path to a vet nursing career volunteering at an animal shelter and has been a full time vet nurse at the Albert Animal Hospital for the past few years. Renee is continuing to further her knowledge with on the job training and has almost completed her studies in certificate 4 of Veterinary Nursing. At home Renee has a beloved chocolate Labrador named Pablo and a fluffy goofball cat named Hugo. In her spare time, Renee enjoys playing touch football, kickboxing, snowboarding and going to the beach with her husband and dog. |
Tara |

Tara is another local girl whose early career in administration soon gave way to her love of animals. She found her calling as a veterinary nurse several years ago and has never looked back. Tara juggles her passion for veterinary nursing with a busy family life: her husband, 3 children, 2 dogs and 1 rainbow lorikeet. She is strongly focussed on patient care for all our hospital patients. |

Jen |

Jen made the career change to veterinary nursing after working in environmental policy with government. She now combines both loves, working part time in each role. She is continuing her studies through on the job training and working towards a Certificate 4 in Veterinary Nursing. She is owned by her much loved Staffy boy, Pugalier girl, and tank of Angel fish. When she gets some spare time, Jen enjoys photography, taking her dogs to the beach, yoga classes and going to the gym. |
Mel |

Mel is another born and bred local, working part time at the Albert Animal Hospital while completing a veterinary science degree at the University of Queensland. She enjoys working with clients and their pets and being able to apply her study to real life cases. At home she takes care of a chatty Devon Rex named Mia. When not hard at work or studying, Mel enjoys spending time with her family and friends, learning to play the guitar and travelling. |

Mykaela |

Mykaela has recently made the transition from the hospitality industry to caring for our four-legged clients. She has just moved back from Jabiru in the Northern Territory and is keen to learn all aspects of veterinary nursing. She has owned cats, dogs, birds, fish and will soon own turtles and maybe even a lizard! Her love for all animals is her driving force for her recent career change. When not at work, Mykaela enjoys Zumba, time with her nephews and going to the beach. |
