On the eighth day of Christmas, Donner, the 8 year old staffordshire bull terrier, came in to get a little red lump on her shoulder removed. Last week, Dr James had taken a small needle biopsy due to concern it could be cancerous and his suspicions were confirmed with a microscopic examination of the sample. Donner had a mast cell tumour (cancer). Donner was in today for an anaesthetic and surgery with her only real concern being the stylish bucket on her head as she left. The stitches will be removed after Christmas and Donner can then run around and enjoy their New Year holiday at the beach with her human family.
